Dissolution of Civil Partnerships in Northern Ireland

We can advise you if you have entered in to a Civil Partnership which has irretrievably broken down. The process is not dissimilar to divorce but there are some key differences.

Like with divorce, you can only apply to dissolve a civil partnership, if it took place over 2 years previously.

You will need to be able to satisfy the court that you have grounds to dissolve the formal relationship: these are unreasonable behaviour, desertion, two years separation with consent and five years separation.  The ground of adultery is not available as it would be with divorce.

Curran Bowles Family Lawyers specialise in this area.  We can guide you through the process and assist with any financial applications that are needed to resolve your assets such as properties, investments, incomes and pensions.
